Budo

Budo is a Japanese word and simply said it is the collective name for Japanese martial arts. Current budo emphasizes overall human development.

Budo consists of the 2 Japanese characters Bu and Do.

  • Bu literally means stopping the sword, which means stop the fighting mind, your enemy’s fighting mind and ultimately your own fighting mind.
  • Do means in daily life.

Aikido is a form of budo, and helps you experience the natural unity of body and mind.
